Visitor Policy and Procedures
On April 6th 2022 SB 988 was signed into law. The law guarantees Florida families the fundamental right to visit their loved ones receiving care in hospitals, hospices, nursing home, assisted living facilities, and intermediate care facilities for disabled.
Anavista Assisted living Facility is committed to the health, safety and well-being of all its residents and staff, and as such have updated our visitation policy in accordance with the SB 988 and Florida Statutes 408.823. Effective May 16th 2022:
The facility will allow in-patient visitations for all residents in the following circumstances unless a resident objects to a visit.

End of life situations

A newly admitted resident who is struggling with the change in environment and lack of family support.

A resident/client, or patient is making one or more major medical decisions.

A resident who is experiencing emotional distress or grieving the loss of a friend, or a family member who recently died.

A resident who needs encouragement to eat or drink which was provided by a family member or caregiver.

A resident who used to talk and interact with others and is seldom speaking.

SB 988 also allows a resident to designate a visitor as an essential caregiver. This visitor can be a family member, friend, guardian, or other individual.
​General Visitation Guidelines:

Visitation will be permitted during the hours of 9am to 9pm.

Visitors entering the facility are required to sign in and out on the visitor log.

ESSENTIAL CAREGIVERS will be allowed on person visits for at least 2 hours daily.

Residents can designate a visitor of their choice as an essential caregiver.

The facility will not require a visitor to be vaccinated or inquire as to the vaccination status of the visitor.

Facial covering in the facility follows the facial coverings requirements for visitors, residents and staff effective 8-01-2023.

Hand hygiene will be recommended before and after the visit.

The residents will be allowed to have physical contact with their visitors.

A resident who is quarantined or isolated may have visitors in the resident's room with additional PPE's

Visitation indoors is to be conducted in the visitation area and movement within the facility will be limited to reduce the risk of transmission of any infectious diseases.

Visitation will be limited to 1 person per resident for up to two hours two times per week.

The administrator or lead staff will continue to educate visitors on the health risks of infectious diseases and the importance of minimizing exposure for all the facility residents.

Visitors unwilling to follow the facility's core procedures of infectious disease prevention will not be permitted to visit or be asked to leave the facility.
